Upcycled Challenge: CD to Ornament #freefromtrash
Who listens to CDs anymore? We have all our music on the ipod and the computer. Seriously cds are going the way of 8-tracks, leaving all us 30-somethings with a gob of cds just laying around for crafting!! I know this has been done a thousand times but it's quick and easy and can make a very cool photo frame ornament. Here I tried to choose cds that weren't too scratched up and that had no label obscuring the clear plastic surround the hole. Then I just cut a pict of one of my cuties so it would fit nicely in the center, embellished with xmas scrapbooking accents and added a fishing line loop using a bead of hot glue. Voila instant Photo Frame Ornament, excellent for embellishing grandparents' xmas gifts!!
This post is part of the Upcycled Crafting Challenge (#freefromtrash) hosted by Calley, The Eco Chic, and is part of a one month challenge to create from trash. This challenge will hopefully open your eyes to the number of items that we still end up trashing every day that could be used by ourselves or our kids to create fun and useful items. To find out more about the challenge and to see other projects click on over to Calley’s announcement post.
