Yes I'm Different Kit from The Urban Fairy

This kit is, well, different!!  Yes I'm Different was created by The Urban Fairy to honor her middle daughter who was diagnosed with ADHD not long ago...

"With that in mind, and the thought of some other amazing children I know, I created this collection. It's full of colors that she loves and work well together. It's something that even she has enjoyed working with! I filled it up with 53 'kid approved' elements and 10 'loved' papers! This is hopefully a kit she and I {and you!} will go back to a million times!"

It's available now at the Digital Scrapbook Studio along with all its coordinating elements

And here are some of the layouts I have created using Yes I'm Different.

The first is of Jack taking a delicious bite out of his 2year old Bday candle

The second is also using The Urban Fairy's Blendaholics Version 2 Masks

Amazing new Collab - Morning Memories

The Urban Fairy, NibblesSkribbles and Jilbert's Bits of Bytes just put out a HUGE collab at the Digital Scrapbooking Studio. It is really cute and contains some really fun elements. I especially love the watercolor papers. The collab bundle can be found here for only $8.99 for a limited time!

"Clouds with a tint of orange and yellow; the sky waking to a brand new blue; watching the fingers of fog disappearing over the hills as the sun chases it away; the fresh cup of coffee that someone else made for you. What are your morning memories?"

Check out a couple of the layouts that I made with this cute kit and some of the extras.

This one is of a couple of pictures I took a few years ago of some artists painting on Cape Cod.  I was just so taken with their paint pallets and the vibrant colors.

The next is of a friend's little girl.  Isn't she adorable?  Thanks to Tobin Curran and Maryann Brown for the beautiful photo.

Just a fun one for me!

I have been meaning to scrap more of the pictures from my husband's company picnic a couple of weeks ago.  It was a lot of fun for the kids and they had a hula hoop contest, limbo, a steel drum band, a large surf board for the kids to play on, facepainting AND FREE snow cones. The boys got their arms painted instead of their faces and of course Jack had to get a traffic cone.  He LOVES to stack and unstack and restack those little traffic cones! And Greyson got a baseball surrounded by flames.  Haha.  Future southpaw hall of famer in training!!  We also rented one of those 4 person bicycles which the kids really got a kick out of.  They also wore (ill-fitting) helmets  for the first time. HAAAAAA-et as Jack calls them. A fun day wa had by all!

Used a lot of random elements on this one.  This is how I USED to scrap: piece by piece and not using a coordinated kit per se. It can be fun to seach through my digital stash to find bits and pieces or just scroll through my stuff and see if anything pops out at me.  I also used a layout I saw by joelsgirl on Sweet Shoppe Designs (I think she must be on the creative team of Kristin Cronin-Barrow and/or Zoe Pearn) as inspiration.

Second kit this week! The Urban Fairy's My Royal Blush

The Urban Fairy has been busy!  She came out with another extraordinary kit this week called My Royal Blush.  This one is crazy, with all sorts of extras including Latin and English word bits, Edges, stamps and brushes, card stock, damask papers and patterned papers.  They are all available at the Digital Scrapbooking Studio HERE.

So I did a few Layouts for this kit and I'd like to share with you two that I created that are very similar but one was using the Page Kit (PK) only while the other has many of the extras. The picture is from our Italy trip in 2012.  I call this "Triptych"

This one used the PK only.  It is soft and calm.

I added a few brushes, word bits and edges to this one.

Which do you like better??

Here are a more couple LOs, also from our trip to Italy

Shades of Summer Coordinated Digital Scrapbooking Collection

The Digital Scrapboking Studio Designers have put together a huge array of Coordinated products for the Shades of Summer Collection.  This is a Choose your Own Adventure type of collection so you only need to buy what you really want - and now they are only $1 for each pack.
Shades of Summer

The Urban Fairy contributed a few packs to this collection including some beautiful papers and some neat masks.

Check out the two layouts I made with these elements (and a few from The Urban Fairy's Just Love Collection as well).  Pictures of my precious boys courtesy of Gillian Crane, a fabulous photographer here in Southern Orange County.

This one was scrap-inspired by a layout I saw by the creative team at Zoe Pearn. The guitar pic shape is something I haven't seen around very much and I just knew that I had to recreate it.  And they make the cutest flowers!

A Little Frustrated Kit by The Urban Fairy

Take a look at this interesting kit just released by The Urban Fairy. You can find it here at The Digital Scrapbooking Studio.  This isn't your traditional "everything is coming up roses" type of kit.  Sometimes you just want to scrap the crazier moments in life..
Have you ever felt a little frustrated with something or someone and just wanted to SCREAM? I've been there. A lot. My recent level of frustration with my children and their apparent inability to pick up after themselves is what lead to this fun colored, frustrated kit! While leaning towards frustration, this kit can easily be used for every day pages! Included in this page kit are 65 elements and 8 12x12 papers.
A great way to vent with out heads rolling!

I have to admit that I struggled with this one.  What the heck was I going to scrap with this one?  Well along came Mother's Day and ALL I WANTED was a couple of cute pictures of me and the kids. Was that so much to ask?  Well, yes, apparently to my two wiggly toddlers.  Take a look at some of the shots my sister took of me and Jack...

It's actually kind of comical.  So my motto for this kit is "You scrap the good, you scrap the bad, you scrap them both and there you have the Scraps of Life, the Scraps of Life"...lol

My first client!

Hey everyone.I am so excited to announce that i just secured my first-ever paying client of ScraPicts. I met her (i'll just call her X for now..) at a women's grassroots networking group recently. X is a MaryKay professional and has commissioned me to help her put together a scrapbook for her best friend ("E") who is getting married in April 2014.  They have known each other since they were 3 so they have a lot of history together.  We had our first meeting last night and she gave me some great ideas for pages - including how they set up a little coffee cafe when they were kids which has blossomed into a dream of opening a real cafe. They also love Disney, traveling, their dogs, Sex in the City etc.  This is going to be a really fun project and will probably even include a collage of some late 90's things like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Backstreet boys .  I also scrapped one page for her of pictures from E's engagement party.  I used The Urban Fairy's MyWay SpringFling for this page.

as an alternative, using a Celebrate QP by the Sugar Babe Erin of Sweet Shoppe Designs

X has also asked me to help her with a networking Portfolio of her clients for whom she has done MK makeovers.  She is thinking of a page per client of before and after makeover picture as well as a short written section with the client's business contact info and perhaps a short bio or testimonial about the makeover etc. X envisions this not only as a portfolio of her work but also as a tool to connect her clients with potential clients for their own businesses.  She loves to help connect people and i think this will be a neat project!

What the heck is iNSD?

It's TODAY!  International Scrapbooking Day. I literally didn't even know what that stood for until about 2 weeks ago when the Urban Fairy, Dani, asked us to come up with a layout or two with her part of the Digiscrap Addicts blog train.  Here is her adorable piece, that is available for free here at The Urban Fairy's Blog!  You can check out the blog train and get a ton of cool freebies.

Here is my page - i just took this awesome bee pict and thought it was pretty springy!!

I am off to the Southern California Mothers of Twins Club meeting in Anaheim Ca today so I won't be doing much with iNSD.  Oh well. Maybe next year!!
